About - Ren Seffer
Ren is an Australian born, third generation artist with European roots and an adventurous gypsy soul. Entirely self-taught, she gives credit to her artistic parents for encouraging self-expression and a love for the arts from a very early age. Channeling this creativity always came naturally and so aspirations of one day becoming a full-time artist was a goal she always held onto. In 1995, after years of walkabout Ren settled in the Caribbean where she fell in love with Island life the ocean and of course the locals. Before long she got involved with the Island's flourishing art scene and eventually paved her way towards a successful career in the arts.
Ren lives and breathes art! When she's not physically painting she's mentally gathering snapshots of her surroundings, travels, life experiences and people she meets along the way - images that eventually come alive through various forms. Her work is full of energy and passion and her images are spontaneous and multi-layered using brush strokes that intuitively bounce off the surface. Art is Ren's platform for self-expression, a way to communicate to the world through a universal language of color and vivid imagery. With this unique style and down-to-earth openness Ren draws you in, giving you a little insight into her creative process and inspirations.
As an award winning artist Ren has exhibited in group shows in New York, Spain and Canada and her work has been collected internationally and is included in the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands permanent collection.
About White Dog
White Dog Art was originally named after the Ren's fur baby Gidget, an island rescue who had a penchant for escaping her yard and going walkabout. She had a beautiful personality, loved children and would end up somewhere in the neighborhood, chasing iguanas, swimming in the neighbors pool or hanging out at the dock with the local kids. Gidget even ended up at the Westin swimming pool on Seven Mile Beach hanging out with the tourists.
Because of beautiful Island dog nature, Ren was inspired to add her image to many of her artworks and thats how it all began.....Gidget became a local celebrity and........White Dog Art was born.
Years later when Gidget crossed the rainbow bridge, Bindi a beautiful little island mix came into their lives and she quickly took over the position as cat lover and studio dog. Now through her Gidget's legacy continues on.
